Romans 1:15
15 So I am eager to come to you in Rome, too, to preach the Good News.
attitude is part of being eager.
let me share with u...
i am a 53yr old woman. i have many daily tasks that require me to focus on what's ptiority. most of the time i argue with myself. really, i do. awhile back, i decided to make a schedule i could live with and still keep most priorities in line. however, i still argue about them to myself.
since i am staying at home, my priotity should be the cleaning of the house, laundry, kitchen. however, these tasks r not on the top of my favorite list. i have never really enjoyed these tasks in any part of my life. but, i have come to realize, at quite a young age, that certain consequences happen if these tasks r put off for too long. so in the beginning of doing the task, i am not very happy. after working at for a time, i begin to see good results. i then am encouraged and complete the task. on to the next with a better attitude and even eagerness to complete it. by the time i have completed all of the tasks assigned for that day, my attitude is much improved.
now, i also have a very nice bicycle. it is housed in the dining room with 2 other bikes. i walk passed these bike several times a day. i most definitely enjoy pedalling! but i still find myself arguing with myself on when and if to ride. on days the weather is very cool, winds r low, either cloudy or sunny, i find myself longing or eager to go ride. but the weather is too cool. on days the sun is out, temperature is just right, wind is minimal, i argue with myself. i'm eager to go ride but my attitude is not. so i sit. not long after i sit, my legs begin to "itch" to pedal. after a short time, my "itching" legs win out and off i go.
so attitude has something to do with eagerness. eagerness to do something should have the right attitude.
being eager to learn, grow, and live out a commitment to Christ Jesus is not easy. sometimes our eagerness dulls due to trials or obstacles. but if we keep that eagerness within us, we will continue in our commitment to Christ. to keep the eagerness, we must devour God's Word. make it part of our very being. eagerness also involves trusting God knows what He is doing and can handle all that comes up.
Paul in Romans 1:15 was eager to fulfill what Christ had shown. Paul knew he would have a certain thorn in his side. Paul knew that certain people would hesitate to receive him. but Paul was eager to see his mission accomplished no matter what it took.
we should be that eager to see Christ Jesus' message shared right where we r.
there r many ways to share the message of Jesus Christ, many without saying a word.
be eager to share Christ where u r. God opens the doors we walk thru and closes those we shouldn't or r completed. be eager to be one that God can shine thru. remember the song, SHINE! from the Newsboys? i do! my favorite part of the song is where the devil can't put out the light.
so be eager to SHINE in the darkness. be eager to be a light to those who r around u.
be eager to share the message of Jesus.
