Romans 1:16-17 NIV
[16] For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. [17] For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed---a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”
is this how u answer the question?
or do u have to think about it?
i can honestly say, I am not ashamed. i have personal proof of God. i am a blood bought, Bible believin', redeemed child of God.
Jesus told us in Matthew 10:33 " But everyone who denies me here on earth, I will also deny before my Father in heaven." so your attitude towards Christ is to be seen in your life.
the way we live each day shows what attitude u have towards Christ. take for example a woman who is in her home every day. this woman does the daily chores and other tasks required. she spends time with God each day. however, her contact with other people is rare during the week. on the weekends, she gets out with her husband and interacts with those around her. the way she carries herself tells others something about her. her communication tells them something about her. the facial expressions also communicate to others. all this is attitude. is this woman showing an attitude of loving Christ? let's continue.
another time out and about, this woman has a smile on her face. she has spring in her step and seems happy. after entering the store, waiting in line, she speaks with cashier. cashier retrieves what is needed and explains one thing is missing due to running out of it. the cashier asks if a substitution can be made. the woman replies, "sure. will it be the same?" finding out it wiil be the same, but will need physician approval, the woman attitude changes slightly. frustration has begun to set in. the woman sees reaction of pharmacist and stops. the woman then pays for the other stuff. as she walks off, she says, "Thank u!" the woman's attitude was not as springy as when she entered. she was still a bit frustrated. but after getting home, the husband calmed her and offered to share.
what kind of attitude did this woman show to those around her? i'll tell u! a selfish one. instead of just getting what was ready to go, the woman let frustration show. the attitude as she walked out was more pleasant but the opportunity to make a small difference with showing understanding and a smile was lost.
i'm not saying frustration is wrong. how u handle the frustration shows what your attitude is towards Christ. frustrating circumstances r gonna happen, that's a given. handling a frustrating situation is what shows your attitude toward Christ.
my attitude towards everday activities also show my attitude towards Christ. if i clean my house half-way, which i often do, it shows i don't yet have Christ's attitude in that area of my life. i am working on this. if others come in, they see a house lived in. my attitude can be seen in my house. i have many items scattered where they should not be. like i said, i am working on this. the scattered items r an example of my attitude about my house. in cleaning up these items, one by one, a new attitude begins to show itself. if i make a choice to have my attitude Christ-like, then my life will begin to organize itself.
u c, Christ takes us as we r. He begins in one area, then moves to the next. He's never pushy, but always patient. Christ is the one who changes our attitude from selfish to Christ-like. one step at a time. having an attitude towards Christ does not erase us but enhances us. our lives r more enjoyable. joy is found in everyday things, activities, fellowship, and time with God. if we make a mistake, God shows us and waits for us to ackowledge it. after we acknowledge the mistake, ask for forgiveness, God teaches us thru it. God' forgiveness helps us stay on track of a Christ-like attitude. a Christ-like attitude is a choice we must make every day.
so again, what is your attitude toward Christ, your Master?
